Heritage
- Kwakwaka'wakw
Andy Everson was born in Comox, British Columbia in
1972. He is named “Nagadzi” after his grandfather,
Chief Andy Frank.
Andy began drawing at an early age and has developed
his Kwakiutl art in various mediums, from beautiful
limited edition prints and giclees to designing and
painting Chilkat blankets for use in potlatch
dancing.
He has followed in the footsteps of his Kwakiutl
relatives in creating bold and unique
representations that remain rooted in the age-old
traditions of his ancestors.
Andy has completed a Master’s degree in Anthropology
and founded “Copper Canoe, Inc.”, a company that
produces aboriginal language CD-Roms.
