Alano Edzerza is a young contemporary Tahltan artist who has taken the traditional art of the Northwest coastal people and using the materials available today created a stunning homage to the past while creating work which reflects the esthetics of today. From his crisp, tight contemporary artwork, gold and abalone jewellery to his three dimensional pieces featuring sandblasted glass boxes with old growth cedar lids, Alano shows a flexibility of design and material along with a level of knowledge and skill which excites all who view his works.
