RUPERT SCOW
Heritage - Kwakwaka'wakw
Rupert Scow was born in the Village of Alert Bay,
BC, a small fishing village on the Northern part of
Vancouver Island. He is one of seven brothers.
Rupert started carving a few years ago, but grew up
with a strong sense of the cultured traditions. He
has apprenticed under renowned carver Beau Dick and
is inspired by Wayne Alfred, Shaun Karpes, Barry
Scow and Vincent Shaugnessy.
